Emocean

Emocean is the first yacht of Rosetti Superyachts, the yacht arm of the Ravenna group Rosetti Marino, which builds supply vessels and platforms for the offshore oil and gas industry. Launched in June 2021 as hull 1 of the RSY 38m EXP series, she has a round-bilge steel displacement hull with a bulbous bow and an aluminium superstructure, 432 gross tons on a 38-metre length, and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her explorer kit is range, storage and access to machinery rather than ice capability: no ice-class notation has been published for her, and she has no helipad. Her brokers say she has made several transatlantic crossings since delivery.

In short

Emocean is the first yacht from Rosetti Superyachts, a yard set up in 2017 by the Ravenna group Rosetti Marino, best known for offshore supply vessels, and her owners chose it for that commercial-shipbuilding background (SuperyachtNews, Boat International). Her case as an explorer rests on a steel displacement hull, 432 gross tons on 38 metres and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, which the yard's sales director summed up as "not your typical explorer yacht" in looks but an explorer in function (SuperyachtNews, Yachts International). She has no published ice-class notation and no helipad, and her 6.5-metre tender is lifted by a crane onto the upper deck aft, leaving the stern free for a beach club (Northrop & Johnson). Her brokers say she has crossed the Atlantic several times since delivery, and she won a 2022 World Superyacht Award in the displacement motor yacht class for 30 to 44.9 metres (Northrop & Johnson, Rosetti Superyachts via Pressmare).

Questions

Is Emocean really an explorer yacht?
In function rather than looks. She has a steel displacement hull, 432 gross tons on 38 metres, large storage volumes and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, but no ice class and no helipad; her builder calls her "not your typical explorer yacht" in style (SuperyachtNews, Yachts International).
How far can Emocean go without refuelling?
The builder gives 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. Broker listings quote the same range at 9 knots, burning about 55 litres an hour, and give fuel capacity as 53,700 or 60,000 litres in different parts of the same listing (SuperyachtNews, Northrop & Johnson).
Does Emocean have an ice class?
No ice-class notation has been published. Her class is given as RINA C MACH Y Short Range, LY4 compliant, and no ice or polar voyages by her have been reported (Northrop & Johnson).
Who owns Emocean?
A private owner. She was built for an experienced couple and was sold in June 2024 to a buyer who has not been named (SuperyachtNews, SuperYacht24).
Can you charter Emocean?
Yes. She has been offered for charter since 2021, her charter operation continued with Yachtsmen International after her 2024 sale, and in October 2026 she was listed for the 2027 Mediterranean summer season (Boat International, Superyachts.com, The Superyacht People).
Does Emocean have a sister ship?
Yes. The second RSY 38m EXP, hull RSY C.129, was delivered by Rosetti Superyachts in May 2024 and renamed Carita after a sale (Boat International).
