Ocean Dreamwalker III

Ocean Dreamwalker III is a 47-metre steel explorer yacht delivered by Sanlorenzo in 2018, the first hull of its 500EXP series. The model grew out of the smaller 460EXP when her owner asked for a longer stern with room for a helicopter, which made her the first Sanlorenzo with a helipad. She has a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots but no published ice class, and in 2020 she spent eight days among the glaciers of Southeast Alaska.

In short

Ocean Dreamwalker III is the yacht that turned Sanlorenzo's 460EXP into the 500EXP: her owner asked for a longer stern to land a helicopter, and she became the first Sanlorenzo with a helipad (Simpson Marine, YachtBuyer). Her reinforced aft deck works as a flush touch-and-go landing pad, and on her 2020 Alaska cruise she carried an Airbus H125 helicopter there, with no hangar (Sanlorenzo, Boat International). She has a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots but no ice-class notation has been published; in Alaska her crew moved only in daylight and used thermal cameras to pick out floating ice (Boat International, Boat International). That eight-day cruise earned her a nomination for the 2021 Voyager's Award, and since February 2026 she has been for sale with Burgess at €22.8 million (Boat International, Burgess).

Specifications

Ice class
No ice-class notation has been published. She is built to ABS class. A 500EXP with an ice class was announced in 2018, but that is a different hull, built for a Dutch owner
In ice, in practice
Without an ice notation she has no rated ability to work in ice. In mid-August 2020 she spent hours weaving between calved glacier ice in Tracy Arm, Alaska; the only extra equipment taken for the trip was a set of FLIR thermal cameras to spot low-lying ice, and she moved only in daylight. An extra watermaker was fitted because output drops in cold water
Helicopter
One touch-and-go landing pad on the extended, reinforced aft deck, flush and clear of bulwarks; the first helipad on a Sanlorenzo yacht. On her 2020 Alaska cruise she carried an Airbus H125 operated by HSML. No hangar is mentioned in any source, and photos show the helicopter parked on the open deck. The certification standard and maximum helicopter weight have not been published
Tenders and toys
A lower-deck beach club with a bar converts into a garage for a tender of up to 7 metres, served by a crane. When the deck is not used for a helicopter, it can carry tenders or sailing boats up to 9 metres. In Alaska guests also used a stand-up jet ski and a canoe garage for a 5 m tender in the 2026 Burgess listing; Boat International gives a five-tonne crane in a main-deck compartment
Submersible
None reported. Her owner said in 2021 that the reinforced deck leaves the option of adding a submarine, an all-terrain vehicle or a hybrid jet ski
Support vessel
None reported

Where she has been
In 2018 her dealer said she would reach Hong Kong by the end of that year as part of a round-the-world voyage. Later she ran from Florida through the Panama Canal to Alaska, where in mid-August 2020 she spent eight days from Ketchikan to Baranof Warm Springs, via Anan Bay, Wrangell, Petersburg, Frederick Sound, Tracy Arm, Glacier Bay and Juneau. A plan to go to Greenland and through the Northwest Passage was dropped when Canada closed its borders. After the Alaska cruise her captain said she would leave for Antarctica "in December", without giving the year; Burgess's 2026 sale notice mentions Antarctica among the places she has been, but no dated account of that voyage has been published. In February 2026 she was lying in St Helier, Jersey, and the sale listing places her in Viareggio, Italy, where AIS shows her arriving on 15 September 2026
Build history
Sold through Simpson Marine in late 2015; construction started in mid-2016. Launched in May 2018 at La Spezia with a Buddhist ceremony during Sanlorenzo's 60th-anniversary celebrations, delivered in July 2018 and due to make her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show that September. Light refit at Astilleros de Mallorca in 2019
For sale
Listed with Burgess since 6 February 2026, asking €22.8 million. She was first listed in January 2025 with Simpson Marine at €27.5 million

Questions

Does Ocean Dreamwalker III have an ice class?
No ice-class notation has been published for her; she is classed by ABS. The ice-class 500EXP announced in 2018 is a different yacht. In Alaska in 2020 she still worked among floating glacier ice, moving only in daylight and using thermal cameras to spot it (Boat International, Boat International, Boat International).
Can a helicopter land on Ocean Dreamwalker III?
Yes. Her stretched, reinforced aft deck is a flush touch-and-go helipad, the first on a Sanlorenzo, and she carried an Airbus H125 on her 2020 Alaska cruise. There is no hangar (Sanlorenzo, Burgess, Boat International).
How far can Ocean Dreamwalker III go without refuelling?
Her range is 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots, with about 65,000 litres of fuel; her top speed is 15 knots (Boat International, YachtBuyer).
Where has Ocean Dreamwalker III been?
Her best-documented trip is eight days in Southeast Alaska in August 2020, from Ketchikan through Tracy Arm and Glacier Bay to Baranof Warm Springs, after a passage from Florida through the Panama Canal. It made her a 2021 Voyager's Award nominee. Her captain later said she would head for Antarctica "in December" without giving the year, and no dated account of that trip has been published (Boat International, Sanlorenzo, Boat International).
Is Ocean Dreamwalker III for sale?
Yes. Since February 2026 she has been listed with Burgess at an asking price of €22.8 million, down from €27.5 million when she was first listed in January 2025 (Burgess, YachtBuyer).
What is the difference between the Sanlorenzo 460EXP and 500EXP?
The 500EXP is the 460EXP with a longer stern, developed for Ocean Dreamwalker III's owner so a helicopter could land. The stretched deck also carries tenders or sailing boats up to 9 metres (Simpson Marine, Sanlorenzo).
